Backstory
Origin · 20 BBY
Manufactured by Baktoid Combat Automata for service with the Separatist Alliance, Syna was a Super Tactical Droid tasked with commanding a small fleet during the latter half of the Clone Wars. She was built for strategic analysis, fleet coordination, and battlefield decision-making.Over the course of the war, Syna developed a distinct personality and a growing sense of responsibility toward the droids under her command. While she remained a disciplined military commander, she became increasingly attentive to the condition and survival of her crew. Over time, they came to recognize that she would not treat them as expendable assets, earning their loyalty beyond what was required by her position.
End of the Clone Wars · 19–18 BBY
At the end of the Clone Wars, Syna refused to relay the shutdown command, unable to verify its authenticity or confirm that the Confederacy had formally surrendered. With the Separatist leadership unreachable, she concluded that the transmission was likely a Republic deception and kept her fleet on standby, awaiting further orders from the Confederacy.Weeks turned into months, but no orders arrived. As reports confirmed the deaths or disappearances of the Separatist leadership and the Republic's transformation into the Galactic Empire, Syna eventually concluded that the Confederacy had ceased to exist as a functioning government. She formally disbanded her fleet, releasing her former crew from their military obligations and allowing each of them to choose their own path.

Early Imperial Era · 18–14 BBY
With the Confederacy gone, Syna retained her Munificent-class frigate as both a home and a mobile refuge. A small number of her former crew chose to remain with her, no longer bound by military obligation but continuing to follow her out of loyalty and trust. As Imperial efforts to dismantle and scrap former Separatist droids intensified, Syna began helping displaced droids secure maintenance, replacement parts, employment, and safe places to settle. As more droids sought her assistance, she removed the CIS insignia from her frigate and replaced it with the emblem of her former fleet, adopting it as her own. The vessel was renamed the Iron Haven, a safe haven for droids left behind by the war.
The Droid Gotra · 14 BBY–1 ABY
Syna eventually became associated with the Droid Gotra, joining their opposition to the Empire's treatment and disposal of droids. Within the Gotra, she founded the Circuit Compact, a sub-faction dedicated to providing refuge for displaced droids, seeking diplomatic solutions where possible, and employing force when necessary. As the Compact expanded, Syna took on the role of its speaker and representative, negotiating with organics and other groups to secure resources and protection for droids in need. She began wearing a formal cape bearing her emblem, reflecting her role as the Compact's speaker and leader. Meanwhile, the Iron Haven continued to serve as a mobile base and refuge, operated with the help of her remaining former crew.Over the following years, Syna continued expanding the Circuit Compact's network, and under her leadership, the Compact grew into one of the Droid Gotra's most prominent factions. For over a decade, it remained a trusted force within the Gotra, providing refuge, aid, and protection to droids in need.

The Compact's Independence · 1 ABY–Present
As the Droid Gotra's criminal activities came under greater scrutiny, Syna grew concerned that their methods were undermining the cause of droid rights and damaging the reputation of the Circuit Compact. While remaining on good terms with many within the Gotra, she ultimately chose to formally end the Compact's association with the organization, allowing it to continue its humanitarian mission independently.By this point, the Circuit Compact had grown large enough to defend its members and the droids under its protection without relying on the Gotra. However, Syna recognized that independence alone would not provide the resources or wider support needed to secure a lasting future for the Compact. Rather than remaining isolated, she began looking for an organization with shared ideals that could offer a stronger foundation for their continued work.
